Our Story

Daylight Academy was founded in 2009

by Dupe Makinde with one clear mission: to raise attainments in the community through training, mentoring and personal development workshops. We work with local community groups to positively impact the lives of those in the community.  We want to help halt the drift into feelings of pointlessness that affect so many people today, particularly young people and women who live in relative social, emotional and financial poverty.  As a social enterprise, all surpluses are reinvested into programmes that are supporting the disadvantaged members of society.

Throughout the past three years we have been consistently committed to this mission.  We have been working in Greenwich with charities, local community and statutory organisations to deliver innovative and transformational programmes.  Our current partners include Greenwich Action for Voluntary Service (GAVS), Her Centre, Trust Thamesmead, World of Hope, GGF and Listening Ears. We also work in partnership with other businesses to deliver innovate Business start-up and Career development programmes.
